Steven has been working with homeless youth for 20 years, in Arizona and Seattle. He has a B.A. in Social Work and has worked on his M.A. in Clinical Counseling. In Phoenix, he was a program director for a homeless youth crisis shelter and entrepreneurship program. He is dedicated to Casa Q because he believes that it both takes a village to support youth and sometimes it only takes one caring person. He believes in the consistency of support, giving the youth respect and building their dignity. Steven knows that the program is only as good as his staff, so he works hard to develop the team. “I tell them, ‘we’re in this together,’” he said. “This population of youth is literally dying on the street. We are in charge of keeping these young people safe.”
