Steven Serrano
Program Director
Program Director Steven Serrano (he/they)has been working with homeless youth for 25 years, in Arizona and Seattle. He has a B.A. in Social Work and has worked on his M.A. in Clinical
Counseling. In Phoenix, he was a program director for a homeless youth crisis shelter and entrepreneurship program. There he established the first transitional living program for LGBTQ
youth in the southwest region. He believes in the consistency of support, giving the youth respect, and building their dignity. Steven knows that the program is only as good as his staff, so
he works hard to develop the team. Steven has been part of Casa Q since 2016.
Shannon Darrell
Chief Administrative Officer
Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Shannon Darrell (she/her), supports the board, program staff and manages resource development, communications, fundraising, and strategic planning. In the prior 8 years, Shannon served as Vice President of Programs for a local non-profit. She holds a B.S. in Psychology with a focus on child development and a M.S. in Psychology, with a focus on addiction.
Shannon was born and raised in Albuquerque and enjoys traveling, gardening, and most of all spending time with my two teenage kiddos and wife.
Jericha
House Manager
My name is Jericha, and my pronouns are she/her/hers. I take pride in my identity as an African American lesbian woman. Originally from Missouri, I moved to New Mexico in pursuit of education and employment. I have a bachelor's degree in Social Work from New Mexico Highlands University and have started my masters coursework. I am employed as the house manager at Casa Q. I truly enjoy the work that we do and the youth that we work with are uniquely special. I'm an avid Star Trek fan and write and produce music. I have a 15 year old son who absolutely holds my heart in his hands.
Charlie Going

Lead Case Manager
Charlie moved across the country with their dog Gilly in 2021 and started working at Casa
Q one week later. They have been case managing at Casa Q since, now working as the lead case manager over the shelter and transitional living program. Before their work in New Mexico, Charlie graduated from Eckerd College in 2020. There they served multiple professional roles on campus, as well as participating in Phi Beta Kappa and the Ford Apprentice Scholar program. After college, Charlie returned to teach middle schoolers math for their third year, became involved in the program’s administrative team, mentored the ninth-grade class as they navigated their first year of COVID learning, taught as an afterschool enrichment teacher, and worked within the business office of the school. Charlie enjoys getting to help young folx move into adulthood with opportunities for education, employment, independent living, and other services. Charlie’s favorite part of his job is getting to help youths achieve their personal community goal and watch them shine, with activities like sport teams or drag performances. Charlie believes in the nurtured heart approach of Casa Q and strives to be the best advocate for the youths under their care. Casa Q has given them opportunities to further their advocacy through representation and discussion of our community’s needs in interviews and meetings, such as their Generation Justice interview and their community meeting with the Assistant Secretary for Health for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Dr. Admiral Levine
Jamie Stevens
Case Manager
Jamie Stevens (she/they) has been with CasaQ for 3 years and works as a case manager. They have lived in New Mexico for over 22 years. Jamie received their bachelor's degree in public health at UNM and has received certification in trauma-informed care and substance counseling. Jamie has been a case manager for 5 years, previously working with the elderly population of New Mexico.

My name is Brad (he/him) and I am the Casa Q weekday coordinator.
I play drums in multiple bands, compete in combat sports and love movies.
Rosa
Client Advocate
Rosa Osegueda(she/her/ella) works with Casa Q as an overnight client advocate. A little about her, she studied and received a Baccalaureate in Social Work and is working on completing a Masters through New Mexico Highlands University. Her experience is tailored to crisis intervention management; working with youth/young adults, and those who are vulnerable, and oppressed within a strength-based approach but continues to utilize new learned methods and approaches. She has worked with different age ranges in populations ranging from Y/YA into the Gariatric community. She enjoys seeing people become empowered by their own strengths and changes. She loves to read and engage in different forms of art and binge watch shows with her daughter or really anything to do with quality family time.

Hi! I’m Alex, during the week I am an overnight Client Advocate at Casa Q. I have a background in teaching, prior to coming to this field I taught 3rd/4th grade. In my studies during my M.A. Ed. program at UNM, I focused efforts on studying how to serve at-risk students in my immediate LGBTQ+ community, I have created workshop presentations for educators on this topic, and the concluding work of my degree focused on reviewing LGBTQ+ teen experiences of education settings in New Mexico. My work of looking after our clients is informed by this practice and experience.”

Jasper (He/They), Born and raised in North Carolina / West Virginia, Has a background in Applied Psychology and History. When not working can be found playing video games, researching queer history, and spending time with his partner and cat (Sabbath).
Sadie Lopez
Client Advocate
Client Advocate/Life Skills Coordinator Sadie Lopez (she/her) earned her Human Services degree from Central New Mexico Community College in late 2023. She has been working at Casa Q since early April of 2024. She has been a part of new program development and assisting in the restructuring of Casa Q’s youth systems. She also loves art and has been able to equip this ability through various ways here, from business cards and stickers to empowering posters around the TLP office and in the house; she exercises her creative ability almost everyday. Sadie also has a great passion for working with our youth and helping them learn daily, work, relationship and community life skills.

I was born in a small town in Mexico and migrated to the United States with my family to pursue a better life. Albuquerque, NM, has been my home since a young age, where I’ve grown deeply connected to the local community. Despite facing various challenges, I am grateful for my opportunities to grow and thrive. I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of New Mexico and pursued a master’s in clinical Mental Health at New Mexico Highlands University. I am committed to helping my community overcome obstacles and achieve greater emotional and mental health, fostering a sense of empowerment and connection within the lives I touch.
